Lucie Lemieux Wilson Lucie became a keen observer of the natural world, at an early age. Her paintings evoke a stroke in time, an image anchored in memory. Lucie seeks every opportunity to be immersed in nature. "Nature feeds me," she says, " It gives direction to my art." Something will attract her- something that distills the essence of repeated observations. "I'll play with it," she says, "Adjusting the focus, and suddenly the painting takes over." Lucie's work is mainly landscapes with occasional bursts of florals: all are bold contrasts. Painting in a semi-realistic style, she uses watercolour, pastels and fluid acrylics to achieve a personal subjective intent. Lucie has exhibited in a number of juried shows. She has taken instruction at Fleming Collage in Peterborough and enjoys attending workshops with well-known artists. Her work is included in several personal collections both in Canada and Europe.
