Camera Lucida with David Rice
David Rice will be on hand for a very informal introduction to the Camera Lucida 8.0 program, which is available for a small fee as an app on your tablet or iphone. There are also free programs online, which have fewer features. This program duplicates the technique that allows you to reproduce exactly what you see in front of you. Before modern technology, artists such as Vermeer and Ingres used an arrangement of prisms to project an image on the working surface and capture a breathtaking likeness of their subject. It is recommended that you come with your device, as well as having viewed the online tutorials available for this app. Bring drawing materials also. In addition, David is offering instruction in basic linear perspective. Come and refresh your perspective skills with a straight edge, T-square and right angled triangle.

And whether pigs have wings’
